visual art is an incredibly vast language. I'm drawn primarily to it's narrative capabilities. I enjoy deconstructing and layering different approaches to image/object-making which often results in works that exist somewhere between paintings and sculptures. the emerging narratives are layered, non-linear, and dream-like. My on-going series Off White Noise and Hope explores an increasing cultural detachment from our natural world and a growing dependence on our technological one. The artist Joseph Beuys offered that the coyote, untamed and undisciplined, represented the spirit of America and he wrestled with it, literally. The works in this series explore that same spirit as it wrestles with itself.
